With this card plugged into a Macintosh with a PDS, the "host" computer can run Apple IIe software.  The Card was a bridge between "real" Apple II's and the world of Macintosh.  The primary market for this back in the day was "Education."  With the attached Y cable an Apple modem and an external       5 1/4 floppy disc drive can be attached and used.
